Day started out slow, yes, slow, I woke up and lazed about for a bit, then realised I had an hour to get clean and pack. speed packed and bathed, yes, speed bathed, fifteen minutes. Left the house on time (early, actually), got into Croydon and had time to get myself a milkshake before I had to go and pick up my train tickets.
So, I got the first train. East Croydon to Watford Junction. That journey was just over an hour, I spent the first twenty minutes working on my NaNo story (I'm waaaaaay behind, but I don't really care anymore), and then decided to read. At the same time I decided to switch my music and listen to the Eagles for a while. Got in to watford and had to wait only about half an hour or less for my next train. A Virgin train to Coventry. I was sort of scared at first, as they go past they are SO fast. But once I was on the train and it was moving, I was fine.
Got in at Coventry and made my way to the station entrance. Little did I know that the guy following me was Kyle, they guy that took the other ticket off of me! So yeah, eventually we acquanted ourselves with each other and then made our way to The Belgrade Theater, where we waiting for Abbii to appear. While waiting for Abbii, we spoke about various things, got to know each other a bit better, and then Abbii appeared. The chatter continued for a while as we waited for Misha to appear. I was amazed by how tall Misha is... I'm a short arse.
Booked into my hotel room just after two, we then proceeded to go and find something to eat, all four of us. We agreed on KFC and all but Kyle had something. Now I think of it, Kyle didn't eat anything yesterday... Strange lad. So yeah, KFC. Conversation over food was extremely amusing and had anyone listened in, they would have probably been insanely confused by most of it. I know I was XD.
Misha had to leave to go and meet her dad and Small human brother (I now understand why he is called 'small human' XD) and Abbii had to pay for a shirt she needed. so me, Kyle and Abbii headed back to my hotel room for a while, then Kyle walked Abbii to the bus stop and forgot my room number
Got into the club, I was worried we'd be ID'd. We weren't
Wasn't all too impressed with their support bands. they WERE good, just 1, not my thing and 2, I couldn't really make out any of the lyrics. However I think I WILL give both Franko and Me Vs. Hero a listen at some point
Elliot Minor appeared on stage. My God, ALL the girls screamed, including myself of course *grins*. I was standing in a perfect spot to reach over to the stage, I could have reached out and the bass player, Ed Hetherton coulda grabbed my hand! But I didn't do that (Wish I had though
Okay, I stopped there for a good while, sorry, I was buying some more Elliot Minor goodies for myself
So the show began, and I SWEAR Alex looked right at me XD, that was the point where I REALLY started to get into the show. They played all but seven of their album tracks, which was totally awesome. I was a little sad that they didn't play Last Call To New York City, which is one of my favourites off of the first album. But they did play my favourite ever, Parallel Worlds. Everyone was singing along to that one, and Running Away. It was no fault of the crowd that not all of us knew the lyrics to the new songs off by heart yet, we tried, and some knew them by heart.
This is just an awesome photo, shame someone got their hand in the way, but that's just how close Alex was
I have no idea what order the songs were in, but I know that Alex was the definate front man! kept jumping off the stage and standing on the photographers bum rests and leaning out across the crowd! at one point, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!! (Yes, I squealed) By that point of course he was all sweaty. I've always wondered why girls are always like 'I touched hiiim' but now I understand
I've already said I'd love to go and see them again, and I'd be more than happy to see them in Coventry again, especially if they're playing at the Kasbah again.
To add to my happiness tonight I've been followed by both @elliotminor AND @danelliotminor on twitter
And I've been told I'm still in full fangirl mode
Well, it was going to be a proper review, but I got distracted and it failed. Now to go back through and add the photo links.
I think This is my favourite photo, besides the one of Alex right up close. (Well, it's another close one, but that's because of my camera zoom)
